The Kungix watch is a very affordable Fitness Tracker, for less than the price of two movie tickets, a tub of popcorn and two oversized sodas, you take home a device with loads of features, a stylish design and even has an app dedicated where it records all your activities.
Kungix Fitness Tracker’s design is clean, simple, and looks nothing short of run-of-the-mill until the display lights up in its full-color glory.
Kungix Fitness Tracker is light on the wrist at 27.5g, so compared to any other smartwatch that weighs more, I didn’t even notice I was wearing it.
The front of the Kungix’s main unit is the touchscreen and a capacitive button below it. The interaction between these elements is a combination of strokes and touches.
The 0.96-inch HD TFT LCD color screen offers excellent HD picture quality. It has 5 levels of screen brightness which can be manually set in the app. With IP68 waterproof performance, there is no need to take off the fitness tracker watch when washing your hands or swimming as it is also water resistant to 30 meters.
The step tracking on Kungix has worked well with other trackers in daily use and is always on.
There is a heart rate sensor on the back of the tracker that sits directly on the skin. Conversely, it’s not always on, so it won’t continuously record your heart rate throughout the day.
Instead, you need to turn it on to get a score on your wrist and have it recorded in the Very Fit Pro app on your phone. This can also be done by starting a workout, which engages constant monitoring for the duration of the session and shows you how you are doing on the band’s display.
You will find that the tracker will record your distance even when you run and works in conjunction with your phone’s GPS for a connected GPS experience. For casual runners who don’t mind carrying their phones with them when they’re out and about, this should be fine.
App and compatibility
Kungix is equipped with Bluetooth 5 and works with phones with Android 4.4 and above or iPhones with iOS 9.0 and above. To connect and sync it, you just need to download the Very Fit Pro app on your phone from the App Store or the Google Play Store.
Setting up the app is simple and via your smartphone you can customize the band, from downloading fun watch faces to setting alarms and event reminders.
The app also breaks down the data into days, showing your sleep pattern, step count, heart rate, weight (if you choose to enter them manually), and more. The interface looks nice, but the UX is a bit picky.
So while the Very Fit Pro app covers the basics and does what you need to, with no detailed data breakdown to keep you motivated and non-intuitive UX design, the most fun time with Kungix was when I was using the device.
To recharge the device you need to remove the strap at the bottom of the display, here you will find a chip where you can insert into a normal battery charger.
It takes about 1-1.5 hours to recharge to the maximum, it will last about 7 days and 15 days in standby.
Kungix is truly a fantastic Fitness Tracker: the external visibility is great and you can start workouts from your wrist, reducing the band’s dependence on your smartphone.
With 3ATM waterproofing, sleep tracking, and a connected GPS, it also has enough smarts to compete with a lot of more expensive trackers.
