There are a plethora of cordless vacuum cleaners currently available for purchase, and all of them are competing with each other for style, ergonomics, functionality and a special place in the market. Today I will talk about the Blade 32V cordless vacuum cleaner, a low cost budget offer with great potential from Vax.
Vax Blade 32V is a slim and versatile bagless vacuum cleaner that can be used in all areas of the home, with additional accessories available ready to use to reach difficult areas. It’s one of the company’s leading cordless vacuum cleaners that has respectable runtime and powerful suction capabilities usually only found with more expensive models.
Much of this can be deduced by reading the specifications on the supplier’s website, but we bought one to find out what this machine can do and what it can’t do.
Read on to see what I think in this Vax Blade 32V review.
Design Vax Blade v32
The Vax Blade v32 has a really sleek and modern design, has classic Vax color schemes and a solid build.
It offers an excellent amount of suction thanks to cyclone technology, offering better airflow and greater suction, even if the dust container is running out or the battery is running out. This is also known as Vax Direct Helix. It also ensures better grip and more efficient cleaning.
The main head has an excellent brush roll which is great for collecting hair and can also be attached to both the handheld section and the wand which means you can easily use it anywhere in the house.
It’s tough on carpets, it really works them to clean them, but also tough on the hardest floors. It has three power settings that can be easily adjusted at the top of the machine, so there’s no need to fumble too much while it’s on.
The high and medium settings are great for stubborn stains and dirty areas, while the low setting is good for general cleaning around the house. However, it should be noted that it can be a bit noisy as the machine reaches volumes of 82 dB.
It can be converted to a portable model for ease of use, so it’s always ready to use, when it’s needed, reaching difficult areas like stairs, but also when furniture needs quick cleaning. It also means you can get to the inside of your car effortlessly, so you can keep things clean at all times.
There’s also the smart control dial, which works by not only allowing you to easily switch between settings, but also telling you how much battery is left. This means you always know how much time you have.
The Vax Blade v32 comes as a standard vacuum cleaner and there is also an additional tool kit which can cost more, depending on where you buy the cleaner.
The standard model includes the following in the box:
- Vax Blade v32 cordless vacuum cleaner
- Cleaning wand in stainless steel
- Cleaning head with a brush bar
- Crevice tool and soft brush attachment
- Wall charger and wall holder for vacuum storage
If you get the additional tool kit, this contains an upholstery tool which is great for mattresses and sofas, a radiator tool, a brush for dusting larger parts, a top tool that is used for the top of cabinets and rails for curtains, and a tool for the stairs.
How noisy is it?
Due to the way the Vax Blade v32 is designed, the motor is pretty close to where you hold it. Measuring from the height of the head, while maintaining the vacuum cleaner normally, the noise can be measured 82.3 dB in normal mode and 85.4 dB in thrust.
It is relatively rather noisy and I certainly couldn’t hold a conversation about this cleaner. That said, the noise isn’t too loud to be overwhelming, but you’ll surely know it’s on.
The Vax Blade v32 is equipped with a lithium-ion battery that offers 45 minutes of cleaning from a full charge. This is impressive for a cordless vacuum cleaner and is on par with vacuum cleaners that are double the price.
The 45 minutes is when the vacuum cleaner is used in normal mode. When using the boost function or the brush bar, the battery life will decrease. If you live in a house with pets and have a lot of rugs, you may find that you have to use the brush bar frequently. If you have mostly hard floors in your home, you might get away with using normal mode most of the time.
Lithium-ion technology means that the suction power will not decrease as the battery runs out, giving you fade-free power for the entire battery cycle.
The battery takes about 4 hours to fully charge and cannot be removed from the vacuum cleaner. One of the downsides of the Vax Blade v32 is that the supplied wall mount doesn’t have a built-in charging, so you need to connect the charger to the vacuum cleaner. If you connect the wall mount near a power outlet, this won’t be a problem.
Final Thoughts Vax Blade v32
Vax Blade v32 is a great value cordless vacuum cleaner. While it doesn’t have all the features of the latest Dysons, it does a really good job of keeping your home clean. It’s less than half the price of some of its competitors, so if you’re willing to make some sacrifices, this is a really great alternative.
It has good battery life, powerful suction, and the wide range of tools allows you to clean anywhere in the house without much effort. It is a well-built vacuum that looks sturdy and is also very well balanced and easy to maneuver. If you’re looking for the trending technology of new cordless vacuum cleaners but don’t want to shell out a fortune, the Vax Blade v32 is a very good option.
